· It’s not winter yet! ·

It’s not winter yet, but the current temperature over the past three days has been very extreme especially on Sunday and this morning. I was going to MUDIKA picnic last sunday and in the middle of the games, rains dropped but before that the winds blows at around 80KM/H. The weather forecast has predicted so but the heavy wind was really something that is unexpected. As a result, I wasn’t feeling very well since got back from the picnic but luckily having one day of hibernation on last Tuesday has made my body fit again.

Although it doesn’t change the fact that the weather is still a little too extreme around Melbourne these days and most of friends who are staying in Melbourne are complaining about the weather. Again, it is not winter yet but then I am forced to wear my scarf already. We are wondering what it is like during winter season. Me, myself personally hope that it will be snow everywhere coz some people have predicted that it hits below 0′ degree and probably it will become the very first time in history for the city of Melbourne has snow on top of it.

Some people say it’s because the effect of the global warming so that when you are in summer, the weather will be getting very hot (just like this year when the temperature was around 45 degrees celcius) and the other way around. I don’t know exactly what is happening to our world but I don’t think that this is something good either, because you guys probably know if it stays like this what will happen over the coming years.

PS: it’s currently 10 degrees celcius and last night was around 2-3 degrees around 4-5 o’clock in the morning. It’s not winter yet!

Stay tune and save our earth!

· Another 5 weeks to go ! ·

As the title says, “it’s around 5 weeks to go” before my 1st semester doing Master degree ends. Currently at the moment is the week without any assignment submission but I know and I realize another hell of weeks are waiting just right in front of me. 5 submissions in total till the end of the semester. Let’s break it down a lil’ bit.

Internet Industry Project (IIP)

The basic functionality is almost done for my part, I’ve just hand over the project to Glen to have him works on the storing of courses to the database. My part is almost done except the calendar which is supposedly to be the hardest part. I’ve got the open source project for monthly calendar on the internet which I’ll be using to build up the weekly view as well as the daily view. Hopefully, it can be done without a major issue. The integration should be done in two weeks time (you guys probably have no idea what kind of iPhone project we are developing but I’ll make a dedicated post to “show-off” our project)

Web Services

The assignment is a nightmare. Our first group meeting was done this monday but we haven’t really figure out the whole picture of the assignment. Today, I consult with my housemate, Evan and suprisingly his thought is mostly likely the same with mine but then the idea to include the database into the infrastructure is just hard to imagine. I have a very bad experience dealing with database using Java because it’s too lame. The project is based on the domain creation stated on ICAAN website (http://www.icann.org)

Document Markup Languages (DML)

I have finished the last assignment and have nothing to worry about. This is done using Peter’s intellegence services.

Web Servers and Web Technology (WSWT)

The level of the difficulty is so so compare to Web Services (WS) which is again a nightmare ever. There are 2 assignments before the end of the semester and one of them is running project right now. There are no major issues at the moment and Google can serve our need to find the solution.

Well, that’s the rough idea of my assignment submission. As you read, I don’t go to the detail because you guys will definitely get bored (well, I bet you are). Hopefully, in the next post I’ll post some interesting story about my personal life.

PS:

  • Events section is updated with new upcoming events
  • Blogroll section is updated with my sister wordpress blog link (Ingelia Levina Foeng’s Blog: http://www.ph03.wordpress.com) and you can pay a visit
  • I’ve added a new link section called “Peter’s Website Link” which basically links to my webpages.
  • Enjoy!

· Another Weekend Nightmare ? ·

almost 3.00 O’clock in the morning and I haven’t slept yet which is in “my new dictionary” to be “something” that I shouldn’t do anymore. I’ve been struggling to get the UITabBar working for the iPhone project and this is “to be honest” very tempting to be solved. The project is under development and yet has show quiet a very promising result and hopefully it stays the way it was till the end.

Not much to do during this Saturday. I’ve decided that I will be resting at home and playing around with stuffs such as Joomla and iPhone. The plan was to join the photo hunting around St.Kilda area however I kinda woke up late and I thought that the gathering will start at 10.00 am but it turn out to be “an” hour earlier. Well well, probably next time then. This Sunday however is expected to be a fun day out coz I’ll join the picnic held by Mudika Melbourne around “Royal Botanic Gardens & National Herbarium – South Yarra”. Well, honestly I deserve this one despite of the facts that the assignment is still haunting me.

Next weeks and following is expected to be the busiest weeks and there are couple of things to be finished and started. Web services will join the line up amongst running projects and the prize of 600 dollars AUD is very tempting for me. I guess that’s all for this entry and surely I’ll post the story about the picnic itself tonight but in the mean I’ll be continuing my research on UITabBar.

Stay Tune!..

· My New Wordpress Blog ·

Hi everyone,…

I am back again to blogging after some period of time. My last post was on Febuary 20, 2009 and it’s about the story when I am going back to Melbourne after a very long holiday (3 months or so). This time I am no longer continuing my blogging activity on Friendster (thanks to Friendster blog by this time I have around 40+ posts) because I have now moved my blog to my own website blog. The new address is http://www.blog.peter-foeng.net and there are couples of reasons before I have finally decided to start my own website and stuffs. The main reason that I now want to start my own website is that I just want to learn couple new things with this new website and in fact I’m learning many different things and I’m happy indeed for starting applying what I’ve got during my academic studies.

Moving out to new hosting is fairly easy thing to do and thanks to Kurniady for the help because I’m subscribing my hosting to him; we are using dreamhost hosting which is indeed quiet reliable (IPC 2008 & IPC 2009 also hosted on dreamhost). Getting Wordpress to work is simpe by using “One-Click” install feature and dreamhost provides several software that are ready to be one-click installed. The thing that requires more attention is when it comes to edit and modify the theme to suit my style. You don’t need to add any new functionalities because 90% of them has been provided by Wordpress and you just need to read to manual guide to get things work here in Wordpress. I spent quite sometime to read the manual because this is my first time to actually edit the theme. I know that this blog still has some flaws in terms of design and functionality therefore I really need feedbacks from other, feel free to drop comments and suggestions here.

The other thing that I post beside this entry is the profile page and again feel free to read my profile as well as getting me some feedback along the way. The main website itself www.peter-foeng.net is still under development probably couple more weeks I will get it up and running; there are other things that I need to do such as the gallery and the webspace before moving on the actual official portfolio. During the weeks I’ve devoted my life to get my blog up and running which is quiet fun along the way because I got a lot of feedback already from my sister and my house mates. The process of developing the design itself is very fun and I am very pleasingly satisfy with the result.

I think that’s all I need to share in this entry but in the next entry I’ll start to share about my personal and academic life recently and start to discussing some issues I deal during these times. But, in the mean time please feel free to browse around my new blog and please do drop some comments if you feel necessary. Enjoy.

Cheerzzzz,,,…
